About the therapist

LINA CHEN

PGDip in Psychosexual & Relationship Therapy, FDN in Counselling & Psychotherapy, MCOSRT, MNCPS, BSc

I am an integrative psychotherapist specialising in psychosexual and relationship therapy. I hold a Diploma in Relationship and Psychosexual Therapy, and I am a registered member of both COSRT  and the NCPS.

I work with a wide range of presenting issues relating to sexual and relationship challenges. I recognise that each person’s experiences are unique, and I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet the individual needs of my clients. My work draws on a range of models, including CBT, attachment theory, psychodynamic therapy, Imago therapy, and existential therapy.

Having Chinese heritage, I have a deep understanding of how cultural differences can shape relationships, intimacy, and sexual expression. Family dynamics, community influences, values, belief systems, and life experiences all play a significant role in how individuals and couples relate to one another. For couples seeking harmony, there is often a bridge to cross. Once on the other side, new perspectives and deeper understandings can emerge.

I believe everyone deserves to be heard, supported, and offered a safe space to explore and express their feelings. I provide a warm, non-judgmental therapeutic environment where clients can reflect openly and feel emotionally contained. My guiding ethos is: “To feel and to express; to be aware and to look for solutions.”

I support my clients in exploring patterns that may be negatively affecting their relationships, sexual wellbeing, and overall quality of life, while also helping them access new ways of seeing themselves and their situations. I believe each person holds an innate inner strength that supports healing, growth, and a secure sense of self. If this connection feels temporarily lost, I am here to help you rediscover it.
