About the therapist

LINA CHEN

PGDip in Psychosexual & Relationship Therapy, FDN in Counselling & Psychotherapy, MCOSRT, MNCPS, BSc

I am an integrative psychotherapist specialising in the psychosexual and relationship area. I’m qualified for a Diploma in Relationship and Psychosexual Therapy and a registered member of COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists), along with the NCPS (National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society). I have worked with various presenting issues relating to sexual and relationship difficulties. I have also worked with diverse clients, including the LGBTQ+ community, sexual trauma survivors, and migrants. I tailor my therapeutic tools and approaches to individual clients’ needs, including CBT, attachment theory, psychodynamic therapy, imago therapy and existential therapy, and so on.

Having Chinese heritage, I thoroughly understand how cultural differences can impact people’s relationships and sex lives. Also, the factors that lie in the different family backgrounds, communities, values and belief systems and life experiences all play a big part in a relationship. Couples who want to achieve harmony may have a bridge to cross. When they reach the other side, they may see things differently.

Everyone wants to be heard, supported and given a space to express their feelings. Hence, I provide a safe, non-judgmental space for my clients. “To feel & to express; to be aware & to look for solutions” is my motto. I will guide my clients to look at things from a different angle and identify the factors that negatively impact their relationship, sexual life and life in general. I believe every one of us has a unique internal power. This power helps us retain our sense of self and heal and grow. If you temporarily lose this power, let me help you to regain it.
